Wow, check this out guys. A picture that I'm actually really...really pleased with :) Like, I'm not sure any of you comprehend JUST how happy I am with this. So, I'll give you some background information on it!

About two weeks ago, my best friend comes up to me. She says, "You need to listen to 'Your Song' by Ellie Goulding." And, well, she gave me a really specific reason, but I'm not going to tell you guys that :blush:

So, I looked up the lyrics, and I thought it was pretty. Later at school, I was bored as heck during my off period, so I pulled it up and listened to it. And I had to draw to it. I had to. So I took out some graph paper, and I sketched out Topaz and Puzzle.

A little time goes by, and ~pricemc saw my sketch, and told me I should digitalize it. Well, I was going to eventually, but I didn't have any inspiration for the background, and I got really stuck.

Then, like clockwork, I pulled up the song again, and the background literally just came to me. I've been working on putting this into a beautiful digital format for over a week now. And I honestly can't be more happy with the results :meow:

Of course, somewhere in that time, Puzzle was born. He and Topaz are supposed to be almost like a yin-yang pair. They're different than what the other is used to, but there's similarities inside both of them that is hard to ignore. And they find themselves connected in many ways (including romantic ;)). Hey, people always say that oppposites attract!

So, long description is long. Partly, this was for ~pricemc because he wanted me to finish this almost as bad as I did, so, hooray! :dummy: Hope you like it as much as I do :XD:

Also, Topaz's feathers killed me. I absolutely DESPISE shading feathers. They almost NEVER turn out very good. Plus, it's hard.

And finally, about Topaz and Puzzle's eye markings. They reach past their cheeks, so when they smile, they get all weird. I'm still working on how they SHOULD look, but right now, they'll pretty much just wiggle. Or something. Don't judge me :XD:

:meow: Thank you! They're incredibly hard to draw, especially because they're ALWAYS smiling, and even in their natural state, they're pretty complex :facepalm: I have no idea what I was thinking.

Thank you! I'm so glad you think so; I think I agree. I'm so happy with how this came out, too. And I think all it takes is a lot of practice; that's the only reason I am the way I am today. That, and the encouragement of wonderful people like you! :heart:
